Open to all Child Health Care professionals with qualification relevant to Palliative Care:

  • Paediatricians, GPs, Nurses, Social Workers,
  • Allied Health Practitioners, Pharmacists,
  • Psychologists, Therapists, Clergy etc.

PL- Recognition of Prior Learning process available for professionals with College Qualifications

FORMAT OF LEARNING:

  • 1 year Diploma (Jan to Nov)
  • Two contact weeks in Cape Town Face-to-face lectures, simulations, class discussions
  • On-line learning (Amathuba platform):
  • Weekly lessons
  • Fortnightly class discussions

Assessments:

  • 7 Assignment
  • Mid-year Exam Written
  • Communication skills assessment
  • Portfolio of evidence
  • Evidence of application of learning to clinical setting

COST:
Course fees- R 60 000 per year
International fee (non-SADC countries) – R 60 000
