Please consider taking this survey if you have experienced the loss of a loved one in the last 5 years
We have been approached by a research team of international students studying Clinical Psychology at Utrecht University in The Netherlands to assist them in finding people in South Africa willing to participate in the study “Grief: An international comparison”. You can participate in this survey if you faced a loss/ losses, which is defined here as the death of a significant other, in the last 5 years. You must also be 18 years or older to take part in the study.
The supervisor of this project is Henk Schut, a professor of Clinical Psychology with a special interest in grief studies.
Their aim is to gain a better understanding of how differences in cultures and religion affect grief in bereaved individuals. They are curious about the experience of your loss, especially in relation to the culture you are part of. Various questions about this are included in the questionnaire. In addition, questions regarding emotional expression and religion will also be addressed.
Filling in the questionnaire will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
